What is non-ionizing radiation?

Medicalradiation.com
Non-ionizing radiation is one of type of radiation that has less energy compared to ionizing radiation. Most of it in the form of television waves, radio wave or microwaves. The effect usually limited to produce light or heat and for domestic purpose. As the technology become more advanced, the function of the ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation have been explored and use for diagnostic and treatment in medicine. The use of radiation in medicine are been divided into two purpose whether to use in diagnostic or in therapy. By incorporate this technology in medicine, the probability to treat a disease has been increase than before. It’s a unique technology because we can apply physic knowledge in biology field to improve quality of life. With development of this technology, an individual who have severe health problem can get its benefit. There’s two types of machine whether it’s stationary or portable. The example for stationary machine is Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) which will be the main focus in this blog.

    1. No,it does not harmful to people. It is because MRI used non-ionizing radiation which have low energy which is much more safer compared to the ionizing radiation that have high possibility in breaking chemical bonds and cause ionization in the human body.
